Global Healing Mandala with Buddhist Teacher Cynthia Jurs
In this fascinating episode, host Julian Guderley talks with Buddhist teacher and author Cynthia Jurs about her decades-long work weaving a "global healing mandala" through the Earth Treasure Vase project.
Jurs shares the incredible story of how a 96-year-old Himalayan Lama instructed her in 1990 to fill consecrated clay vases with prayers and offerings, and bury them in places around the world in need of healing and protection. This launched her on a 30-year journey facilitating nearly 100 Earth Treasure Vase ceremonies with communities spanning Mexico, Colombia, Liberia, Australia and more. She discusses how the vases provide a symbolic technology for people to connect with what they most love and want to see restored in the web of life. Jurs emphasizes that the practice is about realizing we are all "holy vessels" with gifts to offer the Earth. One of the most powerful stories involves burying a vase in war-torn Liberia, which inspired a former rebel general's total transformation into a mindfulness practitioner and peace-builder. Tune in for Jurs' wisdom on using presence and breath awareness to realign with our creativity and compassion - fueling actions that can help weave a new dream of planetary healing.

An Ancient Ritual and a Sacred 30-Year Quest to Heal the Earth with Cynthia Jurs
When dharma teacher Cynthia Jurs met a 96-year-old lama in his cave in a remote corner of Nepal and asked him, “What can we do to bring healing and protection to the earth?” she never imagined that his response would entail a sacred assignment that would lead her on a 30-year quest. Entrusted with an ancient practice from Tibet and a daunting task to procure sacred earth treasure vases made from clay and potent medicines, fill them with prayers & symbolic offerings and bury them around the world in Earth’s most powerful places and troubled lands where healing is called for, Cynthia embarked on an extraordinary journey traversing the globe through uncharted territory, from war-stricken Liberia to the standing stones in Avebury, England, to the outback of aboriginal Australia, to the nuclear laboratory in her own backyard, before eventually returning to the cave where it all began.

The dialogue with Cynthia begins as she shares her personal connection to Lama Tsultrim, her environmental concerns, her motivations for carrying out the Earth Treasure Vases (which serve as activators of Gaia’s acupuncture meridians, bringing healing and stabilization, along with the immeasurable blessing power of the relics and intentions they contain), and her work with former combatants in Liberia to build peace through mindfulness. All of this revolves around the release of Cynthia's book "Summoned by the Earth: Becoming a Holy Vessel For Healing Our World." The gathering concludes with Cynthia guiding us in meditation to direct our prayers and intentions towards healing the Earth.

Becoming a Holy Vessel to Heal and Protect Our World
This week I sit down Dharma Teacher and Author Cynthia Jurs, about her new book "Summoned by the Earth: Becoming a Holy Vessel for Healing our World" This book is about on-going, 30 year journey and an answer to the question: How can we bring healing and protection to Earth?"
Cynthia talks about the importance of getting in touch with our own Buddha nature, accessing the depths of interbeing, and interconnection to become a holy vessel. She shares the fact that Earth--in order to heal and be restored requires that all of us wake up in our way, in our own communities. She speaks passionately about activism as sacred practice and how activism asks us to first, to take care of ourselves so we can see clearly and act compassionately so we can have more capacity to work for the benefit of all beings.
The Last Word with KSFR in Santa Fe (March 21)
Honored today to be joined by Buddhist Dharma teacher, Cynthia Jurs, celebrating the publication of her book Summoned By The Earth: Becoming A Holy Vessel for Healing Our World. As a young woman, Cynthia undertook a pilgrimage to Nepal to meet a revered, aged Rinpoche who she hoped would answer her heartfelt question, “What can I do to bring healing and protection to the earth?” He told her that his monks would make her small clay pots called Earth Treasure Vases infused with prayers and to bury them in land with the greatest need for healing. With the help and friendship of indigenous and tribal peoples all over the globe Cynthia has taken Earth Treasure Vases to more than 20 countries in the past 30 years. Her story is extraordinary.
